On 3 March 2018, 26 oikees came together from all over the world to meet in sunny Arenys de Mar, Spain for the second LEAP meeting. LEAP is a 9-month leadership program for a group of young participants, who had already met in Switzerland in October 2017 on their first meeting. Since then, the LEAP journey included many webinars, reflections, peer-to-peer calls and coaching sessions on personal development and responsible leadership.
Together with Denisa from oikos Bratislava I (Julia) took the very early morning train (05:30 am!!!) from Vienna to St. Gallen (Switzerland) to attend the LEAP Intermediate Meeting by oikos International.
„The oikos LEAP is designed to inspire young leaders to become more responsible in their decision making and equip them with insights, knowledge, and tools to do so. The oikos LEAP program is divided into three tracks. One of them is he Intermediate track. In all tracks, the learnt knowledge, competencies and tools are expected to be implemented in oikos-related work and participants’ personal lives.“ Weiterlesen
DAY 3: hold up, project fair, goodbye-party
After having breakfast at the hostel, we moved to the EDHEC campus, where we had our very first hold up. This hold up was held to help finding solution ideas for the NGO bloom, without a lot of information in advance to increase the creativity of possible solutions. Being a member of the NGO’s team, Frederique Le Manach introduced us to the problem they are currently facing: no transparency of subsidies in the fishing sector. Weiterlesen
Day 2 – Lectures, Workshops and Learning Circles – After having breakfast at the hostel, we started the second day of the oikos spring meeting with some ice breaker games – including a funny banana dance and a running-trust-excercise. As the theme of this year’s spring meeting is „Creating an Entrepreneurial Mindset“ the day started off with presentations from two inspiring personalities. Weiterlesen
A Facebook post decided my future to work on a newly implemented format of oikos – the learning circles. I’ve joined the finance learning circle as a co-manager with my collegue Sanober and frankly speaking, it was one of the best decisions, I’ve ever made. Very interesting fellow-workers, participants and speakers made my experience priceless. Weiterlesen
At the FuturLab 2015 I attended the learning circle Economics, which was coordinated by Moritz Linder. These sessions were about how to get more pluralism in the monotone and mainstream sciences of economics, so that students and professors get another view on how to teach and research on certain issues and matters and start thinking out of the box.
St. Gallen.
St. Gallen. The Gate to the Appenzellerland and economic base of the eastern part of Switzerland. Once a year in October St. Gallen is becoming a meeting point for oikees from all over the world. On the one hand for the Presidents Meeting. Located on a hill with a view over the town oikos Presidents exchange their ideas and experience, they collect ideas, try out new things, skip ideas, start all over again, listen and get to know each other on a very personal level.
